Handmade Scarf

I made this scarf on Wednesday when I was home sick. I really like it. I am thinking about making some to sell in my etsy shop.

It’s not the best photo cause I just layed it on the scanner. I’ll try to get some better pics tomorrow. I have a few other things to take some pictures of too. Like this cute little bunny plushy that I made tonight!

Time Flies

I saw this picture on someone elses blog today. It was made by a kid using a kitchen timer, some batteries and some paper wings! Very creative.  I have really wanted to keep up with my blogging. It is one of my goals this year.  I just can’t seem to find the time.  Well truthfully sometimes I am afraid that what I write will be really boring to every one else.  But then I realize that I am really writing for me.  So I am re-commiting to my goal to post more. I would LOVE to post everyday but realistically I don’t see that happening. So…I want to try to commit to at least 2 times per week.  Let’s hope I can do it!

It's Raining, It's pouring!

Its a wet and rainy saturday.  Not much to do today but sit around and listen to the rain pitter patter on the roof.  Oh well I cant really complain. I kindof like days when there is really nothing better to do than just sit around.  They happen so rarely and it is nice when they do.  Monday will be here in a blink of an eye so I think for right now I’ll just sit here and enjoy the simple solitude of a rainy saturday.

A poem about rain from www.poemhunter.com

Rain Rain Rain

  Rain Rain Rain,
Up above from the skies
u come,
As drops of joy
As drops of sorrow
As a shower of blessing from the heavens.Rain Rain Rain,
Pitter patter pitter patter
on the window panes,
thunder and lightning fill up the skies
creating an orchestral symphony.

Rain Rain Rain,
With wind, sun and clouds,
seven colors u bring together
and joy in our hearts.

Rain Rain Rain
A miracle to a drought
A curse when in glut,
tiny silver crystals trickles from up above.

SCREAM

I love this piece by Edvard Munch. It is said to symbolize the human species taken by an attack of existential angst.  I kind of feel like the guy in this picture today.  Monday I woke up with the worst stomach bug that I have had in a long time.  Was in the bathroom every 20 minutes! Couldn’t even keep down water! By 2:00 I had had enough so I drove myself to the doctor and he gave me a shot and some meds.  Dr. wouldn’t let me drive myself home though so I had to wait there until Richie could come get me.  When I got home I took my meds and went to sleep.  I must have slept pretty well cause I have absolutely NO MEMORY of Tuesday!!!!  That is really weird.  I went back to work on Wednesday but was still unable to eat anything.  Today I have brought some applesauce for lunch so we’ll see how that goes!  My body is sore and I now feel weeks behind.  I really could go for a good SCREAM!!!!!

Capital One Bowl Game

My husband has always enjoyed watch Arkansas Razorback Football.  After a phenomenal season – the Razorbacks were invited to play in the Capital One Bowl Game in Orlando, Florida on New Years Day.  I thought it would be really neat to surprise my husband with tickets to the game for Christmas. So I did!  It was a pretty quick trip but we left out Saturday (in the POURING rain) and drove to Birmingham Alabama were we decided to stop because it was raining so hard.  In the morning we got up early and finished the drive to Orlando (still POURING rain) and arrived about 3:30 in the afternoon on New Years Eve.  Once we got to Florida it was still over cast but VERY warm. I think it was in the low 80′s.  We settled in to the hotel, went out for a really nice dinner and then came back to rest so we could get up and watch the fireworks at midnight.  We were right next to Universal Studios and had a fantastic view of their new year fireworks display from the front lawn of the hotel.  We were also able to see fireworks from SeaWorld, Magic Kingdom and Epcot! It was pretty cool.  Monday we slept in a little and then headed of to the game so we could get some decent parking and have some time to look around.  The game was tons of fun although Arkansas did end up losing by 3 points! [:(]  It was very exciting and my throat still hurts from all the yelling!  It was so worth it to go!  Coming back we decided to drive along the gulf coast rather than take in a theme park.  It was a beautiful drive and we are already planning an extended vacation back to the Orlando area so we can do some of the things Orlando is known for.

Here is a picture of me and Richie at the game!
